True Bethal Lofts

Project Highlights

The historic Sacred Heart campus in Niagara Falls, NY, has been transformed into the True Bethel Lofts. The project includes 39 newly constructed apartments: 28 one-bedroom, 9 two-bedroom, and 2 three-bedroom units. This $14 million dollar renovation preserves the historical character of the school, convent house, and rectory while providing affordable housing for low-income, elderly, and disabled residents in the community.

M/E Role

M/E Engineering provided design and construction administration services for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protections systems
including all new systems for each apartment and common spaces. MEP Systems included:

• High-efficiency natural-gas fired furnaces with remote air-cooled condensing units in each apartment.
• High-efficiency natural-gas fired DX cooling make-up air units
• Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) cooling for common area and community room.
• New 1500 kVA 208V, 3-Phase Electrical Service to Building.
• Dedicated meter and load center for each apartment.
• LED lighting and controls to meet Energy Star.
• New domestic water and fire protection service.
