Salamanca City Central School District
Design & Reconstruction
Salamanca, NY
Project Highlights
This project completed a significant reconstruction of the existing Middle/High School, Prospect Elementary and Seneca Elementary Schools. Features included a ground coupled heat pump system at the Middle/High School. This system features a large well field located inside the running track and includes 254 wells, each 350 feet deep which provide the large heat sink for this fully air conditioned building. Also included are upgrades for direct digital controls, lighting systems, power systems and emergency generators. Additions include a new classroom wing, multi-purpose room, natatorium, gymnasium and music wing expansion.
M/E Role
M/E Engineering developed existing system analysis, recommended scope of work and budgets for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing work prior to design. Designs encapsulated all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems including the heat pump, well field design and layout, all lighting, power, fire alarm and building communication systems.
