The Gurwin Jewish Healthcare Foundation has expanded its continuum of care with the development of the new Fountaingate Gardens independent living community. The newly built, 129 independent apartments offer various amenities and services to residents with healthcare services readily accessible. New construction included two residential buildings, the Terraces (27 apartments) and the Parkview (102 apartments). A third building called the Clubhouse serves as the campus’s centerpiece, holding the community’s dining hall and central lobby.
M/E Role:
- HVAC, plumbing and electric services for the 129 new apartments and supports spaces
- Design and coordination of three separate electric services. 208V/3 phase/2500A to the Clubhouse, 208V/3 phase/3000A to Parkview Apartments and 208V/3 phase/1600A to the Terrace Apartments
- 350kW Diesel emergency generator to provide life safety and optional standby power to all three buildings
- MEP services for commercial kitchen and pool located within the Clubhouse building
- Design and coordination of new water and fire protection services for all three buildings including backflow prevention and distribution
- Central domestic hot water system for the Clubhouse and Parkview buildings. Instantaneous water heaters for individual units within the Terrace Apartments.
- Design of the building low voltage systems (fire alarm, telephone, data, CATV, access control, etc.)
