Project Highlights

New 100,000 SF Interdisciplinary Science/Technology Building housing the Campus' Chemistry, Geology, Physics and Biology Departments.  The building incorporates research laboratories, faculty offices, lecture spaces and various support services.  In addition, the building houses a small observatory on the roof, and an attached greenhouse.

Challenges

This building is viewed by the University as a look to the future as the various fields of study grow into prominence on the Campus.  It was important to introduce the latest proven mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system technologies into this LEED Silver Building.

Three (3) large 100% OA heat recovery AHU's provide 90% of the heating and cooling energy required for the building.  Units are located in a mechanical penthouse.
