Project Highlights
New Laboratory Research Building and Parking Garage for the College of Human Ecology. Human Ecology is a broad mix of social, physical and life sciences, technology and design focused on bettering the health and well-being of individuals, their families, and their communities. This 100,000 square foot facility houses the research efforts for this program. Laboratories consist of wet labs for nutritional science and fiber sciences, dry labs are included for human factors, apparel and drawing/cad studios. The building also houses instructional spaces, a gallery, and a rare costume collection. This project is LEED certified to the Platinum level.
Challenges
- Constructing a LEED Certified Building with a glass façade.
- The Building was connected to three adjacent Buildings via a glass enclosed commons.
