Project Highlights
The Madden Center at Canisius High School is a new multi-functional digital media space at the school, able to host global learning seminars, guest lecturers, social events, fundraisers, and extracurricular activities. The project included an immersive video wall screen, custom LED stock ticker display, programmable lighting, a room-sensing microphone array and built-in PLTZ cameras.
M/E Role
Mechanical and electrical engineering for the design of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems for the Madden Center for Global Learning including a new air handling unit with energy recovery and energy management system, storm water drainage plus power, lighting and fire alarm system design. A specific focus of the HVAC system was proper air distribution at the exterior wall to prevent the formation of condensation and deal with the heat transfer through the glass. Locations of diffusers and lighting were carefully coordinated with the roof structural steel.
