Binghamton University

Energy R+D Building

LEED Gold Certified Energy Services

Binghamton, NY

Project Highlights

Binghamton University’s Energy R+D Building is one of the key pillars to the NY SUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Plan. The new building houses flexible chemistry, physics and optics labs to promote fuel research, teaching and entrepreneurial activity in the energy related disciplines at Binghamton University. The building was designed through a BIM Revit Model for coordination of architectural, structural and MEP. Energy Modeling was performed alongside and throughout design for an integrated and holistic approach to maximize energy savings. In addition, interior CFD modeling was used to optimize the HVAC design and lab safety.
