Emergency Department Expansion
Expansion and renovations for the Unity Health System at Park Ridge Hospital Emergency Department, including a 25,000 SF expansion, a 23,000 SF renovation, new 16,000 SF Department of Medicine, a Central Plant expansion, four new operating rooms, a nine bed holding unit, two new cath labs, a new CT room and new main entrance canopies for the Hospital and Emergency Department.
Design for new Central Plant (including two new 600 HP boilers), new 500 kw emergency power generator, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design for the Emergency Department, four new Operating Rooms, new site lighting, utility relocations, new CO2 gas distribution, four new air handlers and four new infection control isolation rooms.

Emergency Department addition was built over a high voltage duct bank requiring close coordination. The existing Central Plant required many upgrades without disrupting continuity of services. Incoming patient decontamination shower required a holding tank for potentially hazardous chemicals.
